This 2006 Audi A4 Avant had a slipping clutch before it stopped completely and the pedal fell to the floor. We could tell immediately by the clutch friction material fibers falling out of the bellhousing that the clutch had completely come apart. We proceeded to remove the transmission to find the clutch disc had lost a good portion of its friction material. The clutch and flywheel were replaced with OEM parts and the bellhousing was cleaned of debris, and a new crankshaft seal was fitted for good measure. After reassembly, the clutch pedal felt like new again.
